Hi, I am Christel, a full-time mom and a Tie-dye artist in Innisfail, Queensland.

My passion for Tie-dye started in the year 2000 when I was 18 years old.  I bought myself a Tie-dye study guide and some Tie-dye kits to start this passion of mine!  In the beginning I asked some of my friends to bring their white shirts and I dyed them at cost price.

Finishing school, I enrolled for a 4year B Ed degree at the University of Pretoria in South Africa to qualify myself as a Teacher.  I exposed the children in my class to Tie-dye and as a result they Tie-dyed their own shirts as gifts at the end of the year.

 

In 2013 I took my Tie-dye to the next level in starting a small business "Rainbow Tie Dye" and began selling my products at markets.  In 2014 I started Tie-dye workshops for children during school holidays.

In November 2018 our family moved to Australia and during April 2019 I started with my Tie-dye creations, busy making new  memories.

 

I only use professional fiber reactive dyes called Procion dyes. These are the same type of dyes used by clothing manufacturers.

 

The process of tying off sections of garments with string or rubber bands will make a unique pattern design.  Because of the manual process of Tie-dying, no two designs are exactly the same.  As a result, it is almost like a fingerprint.

 

These colourful items will brighten up anybody’s day.  I strongly believe colour is the power which directly influences the soul.  You will feel much happier wearing these Tie-dye clothing.
